#TravelTuesday – Passport

Did you know, that the U.S. Department of State recommends your passport have at least six months of validity beyond your actual travel date? This is to avoid expensive and lengthy travel disruptions. So while your passport may be valid, you might not be able to board your international flight.

The normal rule is three months from your actual travel date for most countries. Three months is generally the longest amount of time you can stay in a foreign country without any sort of visa. Now some countries are expanding that requirement to six months. It is best to have it past 6 months just to be on the safe side.

You can check out the U.S. Passport site for all of the information regarding how to apply and or renew your passport. You can check out this WEBSITE if you are looking for any information on Visas.
